Welcome to the world of vintage compact & glamour collecting!

COVID-19 UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic is still with us, and continuing to affect us all. Restrictions may have eased in the UK over the summer, however no one knows what the autumn and winter months will bring, and it is partly for this reason that the BCCS Committee has had to take the difficult decision again to cancel the annual October Convention. The good news, however, is that we have already secured a new venue and date! Next year's Convention will be brought forward and take place on Saturday 14th May 2022 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham M6 J7. So do Save The Date, and look out for further details / booking information in the next Face Facts newsletter!

The BCCS Committee is continuing to implement measures in the current membership year to compensate for the cancellation of the Convention:

2021 ONLINE CONVENTION SPECIAL - Saturday 9th October

While this year's Convention has sadly had to be cancelled again, on the afternoon of Saturday 9th October, when it would have taken place, the Committee will be organising some online talks using Zoom. Further details will be emailed to members.

2021 FACEBOOK GROUP

The private Facebook Group launched in early 2021 continues to be popular, and currently has 75 members. It was set up in order to provide information and encourage discussion about compacts, especially for members who are geographically distant. Compact themes are continuing to be announced at the beginning of every month as an activity for the group, and many members are also posting about their collections and latest purchases. Examples of recent monthly themes were 'Beside The Seaside', 'The Sporting Life', and 'Back To School'.

It is still hoped that more BCCS members will join the Group in 2021/22, even if they're not currently Facebook users (it is free, and there is no obligation to participate in anything else).

2021 MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY

Members who renewed / joined in 2021 have been contacted by email to ask whether they would like to be included in a second annual BCCS Membership Directory. As last year, this will be produced as a booklet in electronic format, with maps, and will only be emailed to those members who opt in. Its aim is to facilitate networking and help members to reach out to others with similar collecting interests.
